French and Surf!
Learn French and surf the famous breaks in and around Biarritz! You learn intensive French in the mornings and in the afternoons surf! This is suitable for both beginners and experienced surfers. Your surf instructor is Pol, an extremely well known French surfer and owner of Ecole de Surf Hastea. Pol will take you to the best breaks. A certified surf instructor with years of worldwide experience, Pol can teach the absolute beginner, or equally give even the most experienced surfer lots of great tips on improving their techniques. A great combination - learn French and surf!

   French courses

  - 17 lessons per week from Monday to Friday (fours levels available)

 -  Every morning from 9 am to noon. 

Le surf

- 1 hour and half each afternoon, 5 days per week.

- Surfing with Pol, our certified professional surfing instructors.

- Surf breaks and schedules depend on ability, tides and weather.

Teen French Summer Program
14 – 17 years                June – August           Minimum two weeks

Biarritz is a great place to spend your summer and we have put together a Teen French Summer Program that makes the most of this historic Spa town.  In the mornings you concentrate on improving your French conversation, grammar, vocabulary and comprehension in a supportive small group environment.  There will also be a weekly workshop where you can learn more about this unique area of France – its history, its world renown Basque cooking, the culture specific to this region and much more. Wednesdays are excursion days where students will get taken out and about in Biarritz to see the local sights, practice their French in an everyday environment and have FUN.

Biarritz is the surfing mecca  for France so it makes sense that in addition to our usual Teen French Summer program we also offer a Teen French and Surf Summer program . Students who book this program get the additional advantage of  participating  in four sessions of surf per week of approximately 3 hours each.

What is included in French Summer Teen Program:

12 hours of general French Education per week

3 hour French Civilisation workshop per week

a guide/monitor for surfing and activities outside the school

Host family with pick you up from and deliver you to the airport

Homestay accommodation in double room shared with a fellow student

Three meals per day provided by host family
(Breakfast and evening meal with the family, Lunch box at midday)

NB:
Small trips are offered at a discounted prices to interesting places (Spain, Basque Country, Jean de Luz - the city of the Sun king etc)

Pre arrival students can to buy a "bus pass card" making it possible to use public transport at will. It will be necessary to provide: co-ordinates of the student: last name / first name / address / date of birth and 1 photograph + 40 €.

Teen French and Surf Summer
as above but also includes 4 surf sessions per week or approximately 4 hours each! this is a very popular course for teenagers,

 Intensive Small Group French

This is our standard French intensive course without any additional activities. In all our French courses our  goal  is to lead you to a practical, working use of French. To achieve this aim you will practise typical daily situations. Teaching methods specific to French as a  foreign language are applied, using written material encountered in day-to-day life with assistance of visual audio tools.

All have university degrees in French as a foreign language and significant teaching experience. 

Upon arrival
The first day, an oral and written test will be proposed to you to enable us to direct you in

group of your level

Private French.

If you wish to progress quickly with individual attention, then this is an excellent option. You have the choice of all your French being private, or deciding to do some 'top up' private lessons in conjunction with your small group classes

Intensive French and Activities
 

Combine learnign with french with enjoying the many attractions and acitivites that Biarritz has to offer, as you apply the french you ahve leanrt. An excellent comobation of French theory and practical experience. During you fun and interesting  outings you will o use what you have learnt in the previous lessons. The combination of these two learning methods allows you to quickly put into practice the language you have studied using this efficient system, and therefore giving you a better chance of success.

The Activities

- Biarritz, a town situated between ocean and mountain, with a large variety of sporting and cultural activities and events.

- All the activity logistics (transport, equipment) are organised by our centre.

- Additionally, for those who wish, we organise week-end breaks of one or two days :

·        Hill walking with an over night stay in a mountain rescue hut

·        Canyoning during the day

·        visit to the Guggenheim in Bilbao

·        Visit and evening party in San Sebastien.

Our program of activities might change due to weather conditions and the season. For students staying longer than two weeks we have more fun and interesting activities for you to discover! Or perhaps combine the French and Activities program with surf or golf.

French and Golf
If you enjoy golf, Biarritz is also famous for its golf courses! Learn French in eh mornings and hit the links in the afternoon. The bonus is having our Cedric, certified golf professional give you goldf lessons. Whether you are a beginner, or an experienced golfer, this is a great holiday combination. Learn French and Golf!

- Indoor and outdoor practice.

- 9 and 18 holes golf courses.

Lessons supervised by Cedric Hoffsetter our state certified golf professional.

Information about all courses:

- Programs start every Monday.
- Minimum length is from two weeks to 6 months.
- Minimum age is 18 (or 17 with parental consent)
- Maximum number of students for French class is of classes is 12. Average number is 6.
- There are four main French levels - Beginner elementary, intermediate, advanced.
- A French lesson lasts 45 minutes
- Average surf and golf class number is 5
